Mass Spectrometry Benches

Low-Resolution Mass Spectrometry (LRMS) measures nominal mass values and is suited for routine compound identification and screening. High-Resolution Mass Spectrometry (HRMS) provides accurate mass measurements to four or more decimal places, enabling precise molecular formula determination. HRMS instruments, such as Orbitrap or Q-TOF systems, are larger and heavier, making a 1,000-lb rated, purpose-built bench especially important for stability and safety.

All mass spectrometry benches from Workplace Modular Systems are rated to support up to 1,000 lbs of instrumentation and accessories. This capacity is specifically engineered to handle heavy analytical instruments such as triple-quadrupole and high-resolution mass spectrometers, along with their associated LC or GC systems.

The benches are compatible with all major mass spectrometer and chromatography OEMs, including Thermo Fisher Scientific, Agilent Technologies, Waters Corporation, Bruker, Shimadzu, Sciex, PerkinElmer, Beckman Coulter, and Siemens Diagnostics. Workplace Modular Systems is a named OEM partner for Waters, Siemens Diagnostics, and Beckman Coulter, providing fully validated workstation configurations for those instruments.

Three work surface materials are available: Epoxy Resin, Phenolic Resin, and Post-Formed Plastic Laminate. Epoxy and Phenolic Resin surfaces meet SEFA 8 chemical resistance standards, making them ideal for analytical environments where solvent and reagent exposure is common. Special-length work surfaces can also be fabricated to fit custom instrument footprints.

Yes. Each bench includes customized vacuum pump enclosures and independent solvent storage compartments as standard integrated features. Tubing and wiring cutouts manage utility routing for a clean, organized lab environment. Optional accessories such as side-mount bottle trays and freestanding mobile solvent storage trays are also available.
